Finances won’t stand in your way
Regardless of income, any student who wants to be considered for federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs – including grants, scholarships, work-study,
and loans – should complete the FAFSA.
1. Prepare for the process
Before you begin, there are a couple of things you can do to prepare.
First, you and your parent(s) will each need to register for your own FSA ID using social security numbers (SSN) and unique email addresses. Learn more about creating your account(s).
Next, gather the information and documents you’ll need handy while filling out the FAFSA – like SSNs, tax returns, and driver’s license numbers. See the list here.

2. Fill out the FAFSA
When you’re ready, log into fafsa.gov to fill out the 2024-25 FAFSA. It takes most people less than one hour.
Use our school code: 002279
This ensures that our financial aid office receives the results of your FAFSA.

3. Apply to make magic happen
If you haven’t already, submit your application to LTU! It’s easy to apply. Test scores and essays are optional. Plus, you’ll be automatically considered for up to $16,000 in merit scholarships and receive an admission decision within two weeks.
